VIZIO XVT3D474SV TV Cyber Monday. I was hesitant to make this buy since it would be my first major purchase, online no less. I really wanted to get the most bang out of my buck. I use this set mainly to watch Netflix/TV and to play on my PS3. I have NOT tested the 3d yet. (Good 3d is not a dealbreaker for me, but judging from other reviews, this set’s 3d seems to be just fine)

- Picture quality is EXCELLENT. I’ve seen the Sony Bravia LED’s, Samsung LED’s and Panasonic plasma’s in action, and this is on par with that picture quality, if not nearly the same. The only notice-able difference is that it doesn’t handle glare quite as well, but I’m not going to dock too many points from that since the picture is simply outstanding (and the settings to adjust for this are available). This TV does wonders for your Netflix/Hulu picture quality (watching Iron Man 2 on Netflix was at least DVD quality, if not better). The PS3 has these built in, but using the TV versus using the PS3 to watch creates a quality difference worlds apart. You’re paying $500-$1000 less for nearly the same picture and same features; to me, that spells a really good buy.

- Full LED is impressive. I’ve been hooked ever since I saw the LED technology mature in recent years, and this set incorporates all the good things about it. Great black levels, no overheating, etc.

VIZIO E3D420VX Black Friday I did a lot of research for a TV once I knew I would be moving and need to replace my 53″ non HD Sony which still works fine but is just to big for where I am moving to and it is not HD. I have watched Vizio grow as a company and I always liked thier priceing. This TV has a lot to offer and I will say up front sure you can find a better TV and pay a lot more for it but when you look at price point and features this TV wins hands down.

After months of research and reading reviews and weighing the pros and the cons I was certain I was going to get this TV but then things got dark for a few days Amazon my best price site had no more at the great price it when up almost $150.00. Then the sun came out and Amazon restocked a small quanity of them and before the end of the day one of them was mine. A few hours later they where sold out again and up went the price.

I got the TV and I am using it with my XBOX360 and I do use the apps on the TV. Both Amazon and Netflix and I have to say they work flawless. I have watched shows on both and over wifi I have no problem at all. The router is on the first floor of the house and I am on the second floor single strength is about 80%. I even streamed from VUDU their HDX 3D level with no problem.

VIZIO XVT3D650SV Black Friday First, let me say I’m not a techno geek. I know more than the average person because of my job, but I just like watching TV. Period. And I know what I like. I like this TV. First of all, it’s BIG! Yeah, there are bigger TVs out there these days. It was a toss up for me between this Vizio 65″ 3D unit and a Samsung 70″ unit (no 3D). What sold me on this Vizio was not the 3D – that was an afterthought. What got me was the 1080 picture quality in standard 2D HD. WOW! Everything beyond that was just icing on the cake for me but let me tell you honestly, before I brought this baby home, plugged it in and turned it on, I wasn’t a big 3D fan. Now I can’t wait for them to convert every possible movie to 3D. Yes, if you sit too close to the screen you’re gonna lose some effect and the picture quality won’t be as good. My advice is put it in a big room and make sure you’re a good 6 to 8 feet minimum from the unit. This is NOT the TV for an apartment unless you live in one of those 3200 sq. ft. places in Manhattan. Next, make sure you place the TV so you’re looking up at it, not at eye level. They have you looking UP at movie screens in the theatres for a reason and you want to be looking up at this puppy. And no, you do NOT have to be directly in front of the TV to get a great effect. Sitting off to the side it just fine, so a 3D marathon with a bunch of friends is a great way to spend a day – or two.

I’ve read a couple negative comments about the remote for this unit. It takes some getting used to. It’s a little more complicated than your typical TV remote. Set up was easy as long as you read and follow the directions. The buttons were a little stiff at first and response wasn’t great but the more I used it the more responsive it got and the buttons loosened up nicely – so for that person that said the remote sucked, I think you had a premature frame of reference. Give it time. Did you put the batteries in the right way? I personally have no issues anymore with the remote.

The overall picture quality in 3D is not as sharp as 1080 HD 2D, but the quality of the 3D effect on this TV more than makes up for it. And it’s still much better than your standard cable tv quality. It also depends on the movie. A movie that was originally made for 3D has a better quality than a movie that’s been reformatted.
